Bazetta Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
Our creed is not a written statement but the personal being of Jesus Christ as revealed through the Bible. We share the general convictions of the Protestant faith, but specific articles of faith are matters of personal judgment faithful to the biblical revelation.
Membership in the church is based upon a personal relationship with Jesus Christ: “I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and I accept Him as my Lord and Savior.” (Matthew 16:16)
This affirmation becomes a baptismal vow as the believer dramatizes through immersion the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord to “walk in the newness of life.” (Romans 6:4)
The Lord’s Supper is central to worship as in New Testament times. The bread and the cup are received by all who desire them each Sunday. Received “in remembrance of me,” the Lord’s Supper is the Christian’s assurance of the living Christ’s presence in daily life.
Worship, fellowship, Bible study, dedicated service and giving, the motivation of love in home and all relationships are essential elements in the Christian life of the Disciples.
Every Christian is part of Christ’s continuing ministry to the world: standing for His truth, doing His caring for others, strengthening His Body (the Church) on earth through active participation in the church’s life and work.
